Terms of Use

Welcome to Mas.Pet

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Mas.Pet, except where we expressly state that separate terms apply (and not these), and provide information about the Mas.Pet Service (“Service”), outlined below. By creating a Mas.Pet account or using Mas.Pet, you agree to these Terms.

The Mas.Pet Service

We agree to provide you with the Mas.Pet Service, which includes all products, features, apps, services, technologies, and software we offer to fulfil Mas.Pet’s mission: To take control of your pet(s)’ health while enjoying a community of animal lovers. The Service comprises the following aspects:

  • Offering opportunities to create, connect, communicate, discover, and share.

  • Fostering a positive and safe environment for animal lovers.

  • Developing and using technologies that help us continually support our growing community.
Organising and analysing information from our expanding community is central to our Service. A significant part of our Service involves creating and using cutting-edge technologies to personalise, protect, and improve our Service on a global scale for a broad international community.

  • Ensuring access to our Service
To operate our Service globally, we must store and transfer data across our systems worldwide, including those outside your country of residence. This international infrastructure is essential to deliver our Service. This infrastructure may be owned or operated by Mas.Pet, AppHive, Google, or their affiliated companies.

  • Connecting you with brands, products, and services in ways relevant to you.
We use data from Mas.Pet and external partners to show you ads, offers, and other sponsored content we believe may interest you. We strive to make this content as relevant as your other experiences on Mas.Pet.

  • Conducting research and innovation.
We use the information we have to analyse our Service and collaborate with others on research to enhance it and contribute to our community’s well-being.

How our Service is funded

Instead of paying to use Mas.Pet, by using the Services covered by these Terms, you agree that we may show you ads paid for by businesses and organisations to promote within the Service. We aim to show you ads most relevant to you.

We may show you relevant and useful ads without revealing your identity to advertisers. We do not sell your personal data. Advertisers provide us with details such as their business objectives and target audience. We then display their ads to people who might be interested.

Additionally, we provide advertisers with reports on ad performance to help them understand how people interact with their content on Mas.Pet. For example, we offer general demographic and interest information to advertisers. We do not share information that directly identifies you (e.g., your name or email address) unless you give explicit permission.

The Data Policy

To provide our Service, we must collect and use your information and your pets’ information. You must accept the Data Policy to use Mas.Pet.

  • We collect data directly when you submit forms on the Service, such as your account details or your pets’ information.

  • Some data is collected via your device’s IP address, including the city and country from which you accessed the Service when creating your account.

  • None of the collected data is sold to third parties.

  • Your personal data (e.g., name, email, phone number) is never shared with third parties.

  • Your pets’ data (e.g., location, breed, care products, or medications) may be shared with third parties.

Your Commitments

We commit to providing the Service, but we require you to make the commitments below.

Who can use Mas.Pet. We want our Service to be as inclusive and open as possible but also safe and lawful. To achieve this, you must agree to certain restrictions to join the Mas.Pet community.

  • You must be at least 13 years old or the minimum legal age in your country to use Mas.Pet.

  • You must not be prohibited from using any aspect of our Service under applicable laws or using payment-related services if you are on a denied parties list.

  • We must not have previously disabled your account for legal breaches or policy violations.

  • You must not be a convicted sex offender.

How you must not use Mas.Pet. Providing a safe and open Service for a broad community requires everyone’s cooperation.

  • You must not impersonate others or provide false information.
Only your name is required on Mas.Pet. However, you must provide accurate and up-to-date information (including registration details). You must not impersonate others or create an account for someone else without their explicit permission.

  • You must not engage in unlawful, misleading, or fraudulent activities, or activities for illegal or unauthorised purposes.

  • You must not violate these Terms or our Policies (including the Mas.Pet Community Standards) or encourage others to do so.

  • You must not take actions that interfere with or disrupt the Service’s operation.
This includes misusing reporting, dispute, or appeals channels (e.g., submitting fraudulent or baseless reports).

  • You must not attempt to create accounts or collect/access information without authorisation.
This includes automated account creation or data collection without our explicit permission.

  • You must not sell, license, or purchase accounts or data obtained through our Service.
This includes attempting to buy, sell, or transfer account elements (e.g., usernames); collecting other users’ login credentials; or unauthorised use of access tokens.

  • You must not post others’ private or confidential information without permission or infringe others’ rights (e.g., intellectual property rights).
You may use others’ works under copyright exceptions/limitations permitted by law. You declare you own or have obtained all necessary rights for content you post/share.

  • You must not modify, translate, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from our products/components.

Permissions You Grant Us

As part of our agreement, you grant us the permissions needed to provide the Service.

  • We do not claim ownership of your content, but you grant us a licence to use it.
Your rights to your content remain unchanged. You may share your content freely. However, to provide the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide licence to host, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly display, translate, and create derivative works of your content (consistent with your privacy and app settings). This licence ends once your content is deleted from our systems. You may delete content individually or request account deletion.

  • You agree we may download and install Service updates on your device.

Additional Rights We Retain

  • If you choose a name or identifier for your account, we may change it if deemed appropriate (e.g., if it infringes another’s intellectual property or impersonates a user).

  • If you use content protected by our intellectual property (e.g., images, designs, videos, or sounds we provide), we retain all rights to that content, but not to yours.

  • You may only use our intellectual property, trademarks, or similar marks as permitted by our Global Brand Usage Guidelines or with prior written permission from us or the rights holder.

Content Removal and Account Disabling/Termination

We may remove content or information shared on the Service if we believe it violates these Terms, our policies, or the law. We may refuse or stop providing the Service (including disabling/terminating your account) immediately to protect our community or services, address legal risks, repeated intellectual property violations, or if required by law.

If you believe your account was terminated erroneously or wish to disable/delete it permanently, contact us at info@mas.pet. Upon deletion requests, the process begins automatically within 30 days. Removal may take up to 90 days. During deletion, content remains subject to these Terms and the Data Policy. After deletion, it may take up to 90 days to remove from backups/disaster recovery systems.

Content will not be deleted within 90 days if:

  • Technical limitations prevent deletion (we will complete it as feasible).

  • Deletion would restrict our ability to:

    • Investigate illegal activity or policy breaches;

    • Protect our products, systems, and users;

    • Comply with legal obligations (e.g., preserving evidence);

    • Comply with requests from judicial/administrative authorities.
In such cases, content is retained only as long as necessary.

If your account is deleted or disabled, these Terms terminate between you and us. However, sections titled “Our Agreement and What Happens if We Disagree” remain in effect.

Our Agreement and What Happens if We Disagree Our Agreement

  • If any part of this agreement is unenforceable, the remainder remains valid.

  • Any amendments/waivers must be in writing and signed by us. Our failure to enforce a term does not waive it.

  • We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

Who Has Rights Under This Agreement

  • This agreement does not grant rights to third parties.

  • You may not transfer your rights/obligations without our consent.

  • Our rights/obligations may be transferred (e.g., due to mergers, acquisitions, or legal requirements).

Who Is Responsible if Something Happens

Our Service is provided “as is,” and we cannot guarantee it will always be safe or error-free. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES (EXPRESS OR IMPLIED), INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We are not responsible for others’ actions, content, or third-party services accessed via our Service.

Our liability for issues related to the Service is limited as permitted by law. You agree we are not liable for lost profits, revenue, data, or consequential, indirect, exemplary, punitive, or incidental damages arising from these Terms, even if foreseeable. This includes content or account removal.

How We Will Resolve Disputes

If you are a consumer, the laws of your country of residence apply to any claim arising from these Terms. You may resolve claims in any competent court. Otherwise, claims must be resolved exclusively in Costa Rican courts under Costa Rican law. Mas.Pet may bring claims against you in your jurisdiction for unauthorised product abuse or interference.

Unsolicited Material

Feedback or suggestions are welcome. We may use them without restriction or compensation and are not obligated to keep them confidential.

Updating These Terms

We may modify our Service and policies and update these Terms accordingly. Unless legally required, we will notify you (e.g., via email) of changes and give you time to review them. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. To reject updated Terms, delete your account via the website contact form or email info@mas.pet.
